About Us

Allambee Camp has been operating as a outdoor adventure camp since 1978.

Since its opening it has been family owned and operated and today the owner-operators are Imelda & Roman Cathomen. They live on site and together with their friendly and helpful staff they are there to make your stay an outstanding experience. With attention to detail and an open ear for feedback, the dedicated husband & wife team has been developing their venue according to their customers’ needs since 2008. The business is an environmentally friendly and sustainable venue. Allambee Camp prides itself on personal service, good relationships with their customers, professionalism, flexibility and quick response to customers’ requests.

The venue is situated in West Gippsland, approx. 130 km south-east of Melbourne CBD. This is an ideal location for Melbourne as well as Gippsland groups. Travelling from Melbourne, the drive will take you along the Monash Freeway / Princess Highway to the charming town of Yarragon. From Yarragon it’s a scenic drive up to Allambee Camp atop of the stunning Strzelecki Ranges. A truly unique and peaceful location, away from the hustle and bustle of the city, but still close enough to be easily accessible.

The camp mainly hosts and caters for school groups, school retreats, youth groups, church groups, family groups, organisations supporting people with disabilities, staff retreats, social clubs and sporting clubs. For information on services, please click through to What we offer.

Allambee Camp can accommodate groups of up to 100 persons. The sole use of the camp is guaranteed to groups of 30+ participants. For details regarding accommodation and other facilities, please click on Facilities.
